1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Island Camera handles information when you use the iOS application. Island Camera does not require you to create an account and does not send your photographs to servers operated by Island Camera.
We do not use third-party advertising, cross-app tracking, behavioral profiling, or analytics SDKs. We do not sell personal information.
2. Device permissions
Camera
Camera access is used to display the live preview and capture photographs. Camera frames and captured photographs are processed on your device.
Photo library
When you choose to save a rendered photograph to the system photo library, Island Camera requests add-only access. The app does not require broad access to browse your photo library. Photos you explicitly select through Apple’s photo picker can be imported for editing.
Location
Location access is optional and disabled by default. If you enable location metadata, Island Camera requests your location when preparing metadata for a new photograph. Location information is written into the image metadata you choose to create and is not sent to Island Camera.
3. Local storage and iCloud
Photographs, thumbnails, edits, and related metadata are stored in the app’s local container. If you enable iCloud sync, these files are stored in your private Apple iCloud container so they can be available on your devices signed into the same Apple Account.
Apple processes iCloud data under Apple’s terms and privacy policy. Island Camera does not receive your Apple Account credentials and does not operate a separate cloud service.
The app may check available device storage before saving a photograph. This check is used only to prevent failed saves and is not transmitted or retained for profiling.
4. Purchases and subscriptions
In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. Island Camera receives product and entitlement status needed to unlock features. We do not receive or store your payment card number, billing address, or Apple Account password.
5. Your choices and data control
- You can disable location metadata and iCloud sync in Island Camera settings.
- You can revoke camera, photo, or location access in the iOS Settings app.
- You can delete photographs from within Island Camera.
- Deleting the app removes locally stored app data, subject to iOS behavior and any data you separately saved to Photos or iCloud.
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account subscription settings.
Island Camera is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app’s features or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the current version.
